She has been involved with SWE since 1995.  Since graduating and moving to Wisconsin she has continued her enthusiast participation in SWE.  She has served as the sections secretary for two years.  Currently she is in her first year acting as president after completing two years in the position of Counsel of Representative for SWE-WI.  She is the University of Wisconsin – Platteville Collegiate Sections Counselor.  She is also in her second year as the Region H Collegiate Membership Coordinator.

Andrea Cole Fyhrlund, Wisconsin Section Newsletter Editor

Hi, I’m Andrea Cole Fyhrlund, and I’m the SWE-WI Newsletter Editor.  I’m an electrical engineer at Rockwell Automation in Mequon, WI, where I have been working for 11 years.  I spent 10 years in circuit board test engineering, creating in-circuit test equipment for verification of our circuit boards while they’re in production.  In June of ’06 I was fortunate enough to move into a Project Manager position in Rockwell’s “Lean 100” group.  This is a new program that Rockwell is developing, where we work on increasing our production efficiency by using Lean/Six Sigma tools.

I’ve been a member of SWE since I was a student at Michigan Technological University.  I have enjoyed SWE membership as a means for meeting and networking with other engineers.  It’s always interesting to hear what other engineers are doing in their careers.  I feel that there are excellent networking, leadership, and learning opportunities with SWE, and look forward to another great year!
