Leveraging Your Business Skills to Enhance Your Career

Review by Marlene Sharkey, Wisconsin Section Member

We would like to thank Ted Bouras and the Grainger Center for Supply Chain Management for hosting a lively panel discussion on advancing your career.

The panel consisted of Wisconsin Section members Lisa Cvengros and Lisa Perrone, as well as Lilibeth Ares and Kathryn Caggiano.  Everyone on the panel had made significant changes in her career.

Whether they changed companies, functions or went back to academia, they all emphasized the need to be true to yourself.  They also noted the importance of great mentors.  They had all hit a point where they did not feel good about the work they were doing.  Being true to themselves, they set about to make change.  All of them felt these changes advanced their career and allowed them to contribute at a higher level.

Both the students and the professionals that attended benefited from their personal stories and experiences as was evidenced by the questions and discussion that followed.  Thanks again.
